What goes inside a bankable agri-project DPR

    9 min readBy Updated

    In short.

A bankable DPR is the document a lender or subsidy authority uses to decide whether to fund your project. It must carry a project profile, a technical section (engineering layout, capacity calculations, BOQ with brands), a financial section (capex, working capital, revenue model, sensitivity analysis, DSCR, IRR, payback) and statutory documents such as land papers and NOCs.

A DPR is not a brochure. It is the document a lender or subsidy authority uses to take a yes/no decision on funding your project. Here is what a serious DPR must contain.

    Project profile

Promoter background, project rationale, market opportunity, location justification, executive summary.

    Technical section

Engineering layout, capacity calculations, BOQ with brands/makes, equipment list, civil and refrigeration specifications.

    Financial section

Capex breakdown, working capital, revenue model, sensitivity analysis, DSCR, IRR, payback. Lender-grade financial annexures.

    Statutory & compliance

Land documents, NOCs, environment, electricity, water — depending on project scale and scheme.

Does a DPR guarantee subsidy approval?

No. A DPR makes the case for approval — the final decision rests with the sanctioning authority and depends on scheme guidelines, site verification and applicant eligibility.
