MIDH operates through state horticulture missions and covers 20+ components — from polyhouse and net house construction to drip-fertigation, mulching, packhouses, ripening chambers, harvesting tools and farm mechanisation. Filing is done at the state horticulture department, with subsidy released through DBT after joint inspection.

What is MIDH and who administers it?
Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) is a centrally sponsored scheme administered by state horticulture missions under the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. It covers 20+ components for protected cultivation, irrigation, post-harvest and mechanisation.
How much subsidy do I get for a polyhouse under MIDH?
MIDH pays 50% of the prescribed cost norm, not of your quote. Under the MIDH Operational Guidelines 2025 the naturally ventilated (tubular) polyhouse norm is ₹1,200/sqm up to 500 sqm, ₹1,050/sqm for 500–1,008 sqm and ₹1,000/sqm for 1,008–2,500 sqm; fan & pad is ₹1,800 / ₹1,600 / ₹1,500 per sqm for the same bands. Assistance is capped at 2,500 sqm per beneficiary, and the norms are 15% higher in NE & Himalayan states, scheduled areas, vibrant villages, Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep. State top-ups vary by state.
Can I apply for both polyhouse and drip under MIDH?
Yes. Polyhouse, drip irrigation and fertigation can be applied together under MIDH + PMKSY-PDMC. Stacking depends on state scheme guidelines and budget availability for that financial year.
How long does MIDH subsidy take?
Application acknowledgment 7–15 days. Sanction letter typically 30–60 days. Joint inspection after execution 15–30 days. DBT release 15–45 days. Total end-to-end usually 90–180 days from filing.
Is MIDH subsidy front-ended or back-ended?
MIDH is back-ended — released through DBT only after the asset is created, joint inspection is complete, and the beneficiary submits the utilisation certificate. The farmer must fund the project upfront through own equity or bank loan.
Who is eligible for MIDH subsidy?
Individual farmers, FPOs, cooperatives, SHGs, partnership firms and registered companies engaged in horticulture. Land ownership / lease for minimum 7 years, valid KYC, Aadhaar-linked bank account and PFMS / DBT registration are required.
